The Forum-Festival and World Youth Day in Seoul are for young adults aged 18 to 35. Here is the rule, and what it means in practice.
The rule
The festival and WYD are for young people aged 18 to 35. That is the only age requirement, and it applies to both stages of the journey: the Forum-Festival as well as the WYD week in Seoul.
The question we get most
No exceptions are possible for minors, even if accompanied.
Neither a parent, nor a group leader, nor a chaplaincy can register someone under 18. Better to know now than after paying the processing fee.
Who with
You can come on your own: you will be welcomed and accompanied by the Chemin Neuf and Emmanuel communities throughout the journey.
The Forum-Festival is also built to welcome delegations from all over the world: youth groups, chaplaincies, dioceses. If you lead a group, write to us at contact@wyd2027.org before registering everyone one by one — there is a dedicated desk for you. See Coming as a delegation.
Language
This is an international festival: English is the main language. But you do not need to be bilingual to come.
Another way to be there
The festival and WYD are also an adventure in service. Two ways in:
28 July to 2 August 2027, arriving one to two weeks earlier to help set up the site.
3 to 8 August 2027: serving, welcoming pilgrims, shaping the experience of thousands of young people.
Requirements: ages 18 to 35, conversational English, and being available for the period you choose. Write to contact@wyd2027.org with Volunteering as the subject, or see Become a volunteer.
Pre-registration costs a €50 processing fee, which is not refundable.
